Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant Supervisor to manage the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a diverse developer portfolio and supervise a team of 1-3 accountants. This role focuses on high-level accuracy in accrual-basis accounting and requires a leader capable of supervising staff while coordinating with lenders and investors.

Are you a seasoned Property Accountant with a keen eye for detail? Are you passionate about affordable housing and multifamily apartments? If you are, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a Permanent Property Accountant Supervisor in the Mortgage industry. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the challenge of managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial management for our property portfolio. This includes tenant bill backs, straight-line rent, and ratio utility billing systems (RUBS).
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Property Accountant Supervisor, you will:
1. Oversee the financial management of our property portfolio, including affordable housing and multifamily apartments.
2. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
3. Manage the tenant bill backs process, ensuring all costs are accurately allocated and billed.
4. Oversee the straight-line rent calculation and recording process.
5. Implement and manage the Ratio Utility Billing Systems (RUBS) for our properties.
6. Provide leadership and supervision to a team of junior accountants, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
7. Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts, preparing detailed schedules and reports as needed.
8. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve financial reporting.
9. Ensure all accounting activities are in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on affordable housing and multifamily apartments.
2. Extensive experience with tenant bill backs, straight-line rent, and Ratio Utility Billing Systems (RUBS).
3. Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
8. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
