JOB DESCRIPTION

This Property Accountant will manage financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate assets, including tracking income and expenses. They will also assist with budgeting, audits, and compliance requirements. Client Details My client is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community through impactful programs and support services. They focus on improving access to resources and creating sustainable opportunities for the individuals and populations they serve. Description Manage all month end close tasks, including posting accruals and journal entries, while reviewing and correcting any misclassified transactions Analyze monthly financial performance against budget, identifying and explaining key variances across income and expenses Maintain accuracy of financial records through detailed reconciliations and ongoing general ledger review, along with monitoring daily cash activity Work closely with the Housing Finance Manager to coordinate timely transfers for mortgages, reserves, excess cash flow, and program related funds Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and support the annual budgeting process Lead ad hoc financial projects and assist with specialized reporting as needed Profile Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline Minimum of two years of accounting experience, ideally within property management or a nonprofit environment Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight monthly deadlines Strong analytical thinking skills with clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities Job Offer Competitive pay and a strong benefits package MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
