Property Maintenance Specialist I Custodian at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional innovative and detailed individual for our Property Maintenance Specialist I - Custodian position. This position is Monday - Friday on day shift (6:00am-2:30pm or 7:00am-3:30pm) and the starting wage is $20.00 per hour. If you are looking for an opportunity to work with an experienced team at a growing company then this position is for you!As a Property Maintenance Specialist I a typical day might include the following:With close guidance perform daily custodial maintenance duties of basic complexity including but not limited to sweeping dusting scrubbing mopping trash removal and appropriate response to requests as needed.Buff polish scrub strip and refinish hard-surface floors using heavy equipment.Assist with grounds keeping personnel moves and routine deliveries and stocking as directed.Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; perform routine maintenance as required.Follow and continuously improve workplace safety environmental practices area processes and waste reduction opportunities.This job might be for you if you:Have a High School Diploma or equivalentAre able to operate custodial related equipment and use applicable chemicals supplies hand and power tools with guidance.Have previous experience as a floor care technician or in related role preferred.Are able to read understand follow and enforce safety procedures.Are able to work various shifts hours and days depending on workload.Possess a valid drivers license.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to perform basic repairs including carpentry painting and equipment installation.Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks and projects.Physical RequirementsLift and maneuver 40 pounds frequentlyPull weight from high/low shelvesAbility to safely ascend and descend laddersReach bend grip twistStand for at least 8 hoursLocationWest Lafayette IN-This positionis located in West Lafayette IN best known as the home of Purdue University.
