Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDepartments: Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) or School and Outreach Services (SOS)Job Status: Full-time or Part-timeFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Team ManagerPositions Supervised: None Travel Required: Varies based on assignmentESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPlan interventions driven by the client’s individual treatment plan.Plan activities that include group psychoeducational processes, therapeutic activities, and therapeutic outings to practice social skills.Model and facilitate skills through engagement with the client.Participate in psychoeducational trainings to carry out job duties and continue ongoing knowledge in the field.Actively participate in team meetings and be available as necessary for parent and school meetings.Complete clinical documentation correctly and in a timely fashion.Document client attendance, as well as attempted contact with parents/caregivers and other treatment providers when client attendance is inconsistent.Keep Program Team Manager informed of attendance problems and client progress toward completion of treatment goals.Remain informed of agency and program developments.Respect and demonstrate an ability to maintain client confidentiality.Support and actively promote the vision and mission of Family Service and Guidance Center.Transport clients in agency or personal vehicle as needed.Perform other duties as assigned by team managers.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED equivalent is required; some experience preferred in working with children with behavioral and emotional health concerns.Must possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.Must successfully pass the KBI and DCF Central Registry background investigations.Experience:One year of experience working with children preferred.Must possess and utilize sufficient interpersonal skills to promote teamwork both internally and externally.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Effective communication skills (verbal and written)Customer focused (internal and external)Team oriented and ability to get along with othersExcellent listening skillsAccountabilityReliabilityTrust/IntegrityDemonstrates adaptability/flexibilityDeveloped time management skillsDeveloped organizational skillsProficiency in MS Office Suite with ability to learn other software programs as necessary including Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Relationship buildingProblem solvingAttention to detail and accuracy in workAbility to be collaborativeOpen to learning and accepting feedbackAbility to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentialityStrengths basedFamily centeredCommunity basedCulturally respectfulPHYSCIAL DEMANDSN (Not Applicable) Activity is not applicable to this position.O (Occasionally) Position requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 – 2.5+ hrs/day)F (Frequently) Position requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 – 5.5+ hrs/day)C (Constantly) Position requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day)Physical Demands Lift/CarryStand (F) 10 lbs. or less (F)Walk (F) 11 – 20 lbs. (O)Other Physical Requirements:Must have sufficient ambulatory capabilities to work with children in the office or community-based settings. This position requires the physical ability to safely implement physical interventions in the event that clients exhibit out-of-control behaviors threatening the safety of the client or others.WORK ENVIRONMENTOffice, group room, and community-based working environment, requiring a flexible schedule and approach to daily tasks. Group assignments and scheduled working hours may fluctuate to meet changing program needs. This is a direct service position with frequent interruptions. Clients often express themselves through verbal or physical acting out. Clients may yell at staff, swear, engage in property destruction, and act in a physically aggressive manner towards staff or others.
