Psychiatrist - Huntsville, ALJob Type: Full-time/Part-time (on-site)Shifts: M-F (8-hours) (no on-call/weekend requirements)We are a growing mental health office looking to expand our helping model into medication management. Duties include discussing with patients and observing their behaviors to identify mental disorders, determining treatments and prescribing medications. To be considered for this role, you need to be licensed as a Psychiatrist in the state of Alabama.Responsibilities:Review patients' medical history and collect additional information from family members and other professionals as neededEvaluate patients' emotional, behavioral and mental state through discussion, observation and analysisIdentify mental disorders and determine best treatmentsDevelop therapy plansPrescribe medicationsAnalyze medical tests and track patients' progressCoordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is requiredAdvise patients on how to cope with mental diseases and emotional breakdownsResearch medical issues and new medical treatments to update your knowledge on mental healthcareRequirements:MD or Doctor of Osteopathic MedicineResidency program in PsychiatryOutpatient work experience as a PsychiatristCertification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS) & AL state LicenseIn-depth knowledge of various psychotherapeutic methodsExtensive knowledge of outpatient billing for CPT codes and levels of care with modifiersBenefits:Dental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistance
