Psychiatry opening in Defiance, Ohio Located 50m to Toledo, 45m to Fort Wayne, INPosition DetailsFull-timePermanentEmployedSmall critical-access hospital in Northwest Ohio10 inpatient Psychiatric bedsInpatient and Outpatient mixThe average length of stay for inpatients is 3-4 daysBehavioral Health Practice offers:Outpatient New Evaluations-1 hr.Outpatient Medication Management visits- 30 minNeuropsych evals./med managementOffice hours are M-Friday, with patient hours being 8:30-5pCross cover with Inpatient weekend on call- Friday 5p-Monday 8a (usually 1 weekend a month)Cross cover of weekly inpatient call and hospital consultsPHP- program is currently being re-evaluated with potential move to IOP programOutpatient therapy- children through geriatrics The practice model for the inpatient unit is set up according to state rules. Psychiatrists are responsible for completing a psychiatric evaluation within 24 hours of admission and managing psychiatric medications. Rounds must be completed every 24 hours for inpatients. Programs for inpatients are scheduled in order to help patients gain further coping skills. Groups are facilitated by Social Service, Recreational Therapists, Psychologist, or Nursing. The treatment team consists of Psychiatrists, Nursing, Social Service, and Recreational Therapists.
