Psychiatry physician job in New York : A healthcare organization in the Bronx is looking to add a licensed Inpatient Psychiatrist to join their growing team as a Unit Chief.About the Opportunity:Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekendsHours: Standard business hoursPatient Population: AdultsCall Schedule: NoneResponsibilities: The Inpatient Psychiatrist will:Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate the mental and emotional status of adult patientsDiagnose mental health conditions and disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, and substance use disordersDevelop individualized treatment plans for each patientPrescribe and manage medications to help stabilize and improve the mental health of their patientsManage psychiatric crises and emergenciesPrepare patients for discharge from the hospital by developing aftercare plansEducate patients and their families about the nature of the mental health condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and preventing relapseMaintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient assessments, treatment plans, progress, and any changes in medications or interventionsPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:Licensed to practice in the State of New York Board CertifiedYour privacy is important to us.
