Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!BECOME A BAGGAGE HANDLER!Our Baggage Handlers main duty is to ensure passenger luggage is handled promptly efficiently and safely. You will load and unload baggage from the conveyor belt and aircraft carefully sorting luggage by flight destination. Following safety and security guidelines is crucial to maintain a secure airport environment. This team-oriented role involves working in various weather conditions lifting heavy items and operating ground support equipment as needed.WHAT ITS LIKE TO WORK AS A BAGGAGE HANDLERLoad and unload passenger luggage and cargo on and off aircraftOperate baggage handling equipment such as conveyor belts and trolleysSort and route baggage to the correct flight and carouselEnsure timely delivery of baggage to and from aircraftInspect baggage for damage or security risks and report any issuesFollow safety guidelines and procedures while handling baggageWork closely with other ground staff to ensure efficient baggage processingMaintain cleanliness and organization in the baggage handling areaCollaborate with security personnel to ensure adherence to airport security measuresParticipate in training sessions on baggage handling procedures and equipmentCoordinate with airline staff for special luggage handling such as oversized or fragile itemsRecord and report baggage handling activities as per company and airport regulationsExceed customer service and safety standards set by PrimeFlightPerform any additional duties as assigned by managementQUALIFICATIONS 18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United StatesMust have a valid state-issued drivers license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to read write speak and understand the English language to include documentsAbility to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets Computers and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA TSA Port Authority U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Ability to work any day/shift including holidays within a 24/7 operationPHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE:Ability to lift up to 70 poundsProlonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicableMust be able to push pullMust be able to work at elevated heightsMust be able to reach with arms and grasp with handsMust be able to bend stretch squat and kneelExposure to moderate and at times high noise levelsBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarmsTasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms wrists hands and/or fingersSpecific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)Airlines are 24/7 so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights weekends and holidays.
