Together, let's make a positive impact and empower the next generation of leaders.Job Summary The Federal Financial Aid Eligibility Coordinator has the primary responsibility for the verification and Administers the SAP Appeal program by accepting, processing and responding to student appeals. The Federal Financial Aid Eligibility Coordinator evaluates financial aid applications for eligibility and evaluates aid packages while ensuring the Institution is compliant with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies. Works in conjunction with Shared Services Center (SSC).The Federal Financial Aid Eligibility Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment with the expectation of continuous improvement and first-class customer service. The incumbent participates in divisional activities as a member of the Enrollment Management Services Division. Collaborative and team-oriented skills with a commitment to student success are essential attributes for the individual in this position.Responsibilities Conducts direct communication to student and or parent needed during the verification of applicant data. Notifies applicants of additional documents needed. Submits documentation to SSC to resolve any conflicting information.Works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Processing and the Assistant Director of Compliance to serve as a liaison with Campus Logic to develop new or alter existing forms. Troubleshoot and open tickets with the Campus Logic helpdesk.Provides documentation to SSC to resolve all SAR C Flag, unofficial ISIRs and other eligibility issues. Evaluates all citizenship documentation and makes a determination of eligibility. Coordinates the submission of documents through the DHS SAVE system.Administers the SAP Appeal program by accepting, processing and responding to student appeal inquiries. Preparing and presenting appeals to the SAP Appeals Committee and notifying students of the appeal status. Engage campus partners to educate/train which promotes optimal advising of students.Processes and notifies students of financial aid eligibility for incoming and continuing transfer and/or study abroad students.Serves as a member of various committees in the office and on campus. This person is a member of the processing team within the financial aid office with expectations of participating in decisions related to processing schedules, process improvements and the policies related to verification and student eligibility.Assist the Customer Service team with student traffic during peak time periods. In addition participate in Housing Move-In days, Grizzly Orientation, Preview Days and other campus events.Serve as a backup to other members of the Processing Team.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications 4 Year / Bachelor's DegreeAt least one year of Financial Aid ExperiencePreferred Qualifications Three years of financial aid experience with knowledge of rules and regulations as they pertain to Federal Title IV fundingKnowledge of Banner and federal systemsKnowledge of Campus Logic Student FormsNASFAA Core in Verification, Application Process, Satisfactory Academic Progress and Student EligibilityProposed Salary 38,300 - 45,900Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Effective task and time management abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem solving skillsCommitment to collaborative planning and teamworkDependable attendanceAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to effectively communicate complex ideas to various stakeholders (students, parents, colleagues, etc)USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
