Overview The Vermont Department of Health Division of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP) is hiring a Public Health Specialist III to join the Respiratory Health Team (Asthma and COPD Programs) to help administer and implement two Center for Disease Control and Prevention grants to expand awareness and advance best practice guideline care to improve respiratory health outcomes for adults and children. We are seeking a bright energetic dedicated well-organized public health professional and team player.Examples of work include preparing elements for federal applications and reporting requirements monitoring subrecipient grants and contracts and program work performed by subrecipients vendors and/or program partners in the community. The position works with the program manager to identify plan and implement program solutions refinements and provide technical assistance. The respiratory public health specialist will be involved in implementing respiratory health initiatives and performance including asthma-friendly schools COPD and Asthma Program webpage content and accessibility expand community outreach including helping with tailored supports and participate on advisories and committees to be a public health voice and foster collaboration to improve more comprehensive respiratory health systems. Ideal candidates should understand the root causes of health inequities and have familiarity with initiating and maintaining collaboration across sectors and with diverse partners to improve the health of populations experiencing the greatest respiratory health risks and disparities.Who May Apply This position Public Health Specialist III - Limited Service (Job Requisition #53939) is open to all State employees and external applicants.
