Diagnose problems and identify parts needed for repair.The starting rate for this position is $32.00 per hour and may pay higher for relevant years of experience.Responsibilities:Dismantle and inspect all equipment to include centrifugal split case vertical submersible pumps and othersIdentify parts needed to repairAssemble pumps when ready for repairTest completed pumps according to written proceduresClean lubricate and adjust parts equipment and machineryRecord parts and materials needed and request new parts and materials as necessaryMaintain a neat and orderly shopCourteous interaction and communications with inside and outside sales management and warehouse personnelUse of forklift and overhead cranesWork indoors in an uncontrolled temperature environment with occasional work outsideMay be responsible for providing driver duties and responsibilitiesQualifications:2 years of mechanical experience is required Must be at least 18 years oldValid state issued license is Hands-on mechanical aptitudeHigh School Graduate or GED/Vocational SchoolCertified welder (optional)Ability to read and understand installation and operations manuals and schematicsAbility to accurately use and read micrometers gauges and indicatorsAbility to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safetyAbility to accept responsibility and account for his/her actionsAbility to make decisions while following company proceduresKeep management apprised of work and backlogAbility to use cranes and other heavy and light machines and equipmentAt Ferguson we care for each other.
