Job DescriptionJob DescriptionModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction. ModCorr’s safe, secure and high-quality units comply with all American Correctional Association (ACA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Position SummaryThe QA/QC Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that all prefabrication processes and products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process work, and finished products to ensure they meet blueprints, technical specifications, and client requirements. The QA/QC Inspector supports continuous improvement efforts, identifies non-conformances, and collaborates with production teams to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with industry standards, including ISO requirements. This position reports directly to the Director of QA/QC (or designated supervisor) and works closely with production, engineering, and project teams.Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & TestingPerform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, subassemblies, and finished products.Verify conformity to specifications, blueprints, and industry standards.Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection instruments.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including logs of non-conformances.Prepare and distribute inspection reports to supervisors, engineers, and management.Communicate quality issues clearly and promptly to relevant stakeholders.Quality System ComplianceEnsure adherence to ISO standards, company quality policies, and customer requirements.Participate in internal and external quality audits.Support the enforcement of quality procedures throughout fabrication and assembly processes.Problem Solving & Corrective ActionCollaborate with production and engineering teams to determine root causes of defects.Recommend and support corrective actions to eliminate quality issues.Provide feedback to help improve manufacturing and inspection processes.Continuous ImprovementContribute to the development and refinement of quality control procedures.Suggest and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.Knowledge and Skills RequiredHigh school diploma or GED required. Additional certifications or training in quality control or inspection preferred.2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a fabrication or manufacturing environment. - Experience with metal fabrication processes and tolerances preferred.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and deviations.Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards preferred.Welding experience and/or SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge a plus.Work EnvironmentThe QA/QC Inspector will primarily work in a fabrication shop setting with exposure to machinery, equipment, noise, and potential hazards. The role also includes office-based tasks for documentation and reporting.
