Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $60,000.00 -$80,000.00 DOE Job Title: QAQC Technician / Inspector ConstructionLocation: Hemet, CaliforniaSalary Range: $60,000 $80,000 annually, DOEJob Type: Full-TimeWork Schedule: Monday Thursday, 6:30 AM 5:00 PMJob SummaryWe are seeking a QAQC Technician/Inspector to oversee the quality assurance and quality control processes for our construction and steel fabrication projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all work complies with applicable codes, specifications, and safety standards. The QAQC Technician will conduct inspections, perform materials testing, maintain documentation, and work cross-functionally with contractors and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.Key Responsibilities1. Quality AssuranceDevelop and implement the quality management system for assigned construction projects.Review project specifications, engineering drawings, and contract requirements for compliance.Ensure ongoing adherence to applicable standards, codes, and client specifications.2. Quality ControlPerform inspections of materials, structural welds, coatings, and fabrication processes.Conduct testing on concrete, steel, welds, coatings, and other materials used in construction.Monitor workmanship and project execution to detect deviations and ensure corrective action.3. DocumentationMaintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and corrective actions.Prepare quality reports, logs, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).Ensure traceability and approval documentation is maintained and audit-ready.4. Non-Conformance ManagementIdentify quality issues, deficiencies, and non-conformances.Coordinate and document corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Follow up with project teams to ensure timely resolution and compliance.5. Collaboration and CommunicationWork with project managers, field crews, subcontractors, and clients to ensure quality standards are met.Conduct training or briefings on quality procedures and expectations.Coordinate with third-party inspectors, testing agencies, and regulatory bodies.6. Inspection and TestingPerform field and shop inspections throughout all phases of fabrication and construction.Verify calibration and proper use of inspection and testing equipment.Ensure adherence to coating thickness, weld quality, and structural tolerances.7. Health, Safety, and Environmental ComplianceSupport integration of quality with health and safety programs.Ensure all QA/QC activities are performed with proper PPE and hazard awareness.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA standards and enforce compliance.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Minimum 35 years of relevant experience in construction QA/QC or inspection.Experience in steel fabrication, welding, and coating inspection preferred.Certifications (Preferred or Required)AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) RequiredNACE Level III Coating Inspector RequiredOSHA 10, 30, or 510 certifications PreferredISO 9001, Six Sigma, or other quality certifications PreferredSkillsStrong knowledge of construction materials, welding, coatings, and inspection standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use AutoCAD or project management tools.Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally.Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.Must be physically capable of working in active construction environments, indoors or outdoors.Additional RequirementsMust pass a background check and drug screening.Must be eligible for respirator fit testing and wear required PPE (clean-shaven policy applies).Travel may be required to job sites; primary work location will be the Hemet, CA facility.Compensation and BenefitsHealth InsuranceDental and Vision CoveragePaid Time Off (PTO)401(k) Retirement PlanAflac Supplemental InsuranceLife InsuranceAAP/EEO StatementWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
