QA & Food Safety Manager

Capstone Search Advisors is recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturer seeking an experienced QA & Food Safety Manager to lead quality assurance and food safety initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing company with more than 25 years of success in the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who enjoys working closely with production while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Position Highlights

  • Location: Independence, OH
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1st Shift)
  • Salary: $60,000-$75,000 (based on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day Quality Assurance and Food Safety program.
  • Partner closely with production to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF standards
  • Prepare for and support internal, customer, and third-party audits while maintaining accurate documentation and traceability records.
  • Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage product labeling compliance and UPC database requirements.
  • Analyze quality metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce GMPs, SOPs, and food safety procedures.
  • Build strong working relationships with production and operations to promote a culture of quality and food safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of FDA, USDA, HACCP, and SQF standards.
  • Experience supporting or leading food safety audits.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, SOPs, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
