Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Boulder, CO Pay: $22$26/hour (DOE) Type: Temp-to-Hire

Shifts Available

MondayFriday: 6:00 AM 6:30 PM

About the Role

This role supports precision optics manufacturing where quality is critical at every stage. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you'll perform hands-on inspections, verify measurements, and ensure components meet strict specifications before moving forward in production. The work spans both the manufacturing floor and lab-style inspection environments, offering variety and technical depth.

What You'll Do

Inspect optical surfaces using established visual inspection criteria Use handheld tools and automated measurement equipment to verify part dimensions Inspect complex optics and assemblies, including inspection equipment setup Read and interpret technical drawings, prints, and specifications Review process sheets, coating data, interferometer scans, and material certifications Complete First Article Inspections with minimal supervision Document inspection results and identify nonconforming material Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve issues and share improvement ideas Support process improvement efforts through data collection and testing Assist with training and mentoring junior QA and Manufacturing Technicians

What You Bring

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred 3+ years of experience in quality inspection, QA, or QC in a manufacturing environment Confidence using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Familiarity with GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) a plus Strong math skills and attention to detail Clear, accurate documentation habits
