To learn more, please visit www.generousbrands.com.WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE The Quality Control Lead will assist and monitor production and product quality to ensure all products meet the established specifications. The Quality Control Lead will assist QC Supervisor in performing the development, maintenance and implementation of the quality systems and food safety programs. Will provide support and direction to Quality Control Technicians.JOB DUTIES:Train and review of methodologies, SOP’s, performance and techniques of QC personnel by working with QC supervisors including calibration of equipment to assure accuracy and repeatability of test resultsResponsible for preparing and shipping samples to customersEnsure all analytical and production check frequencies are being metMonitor compliance to specifications, methods, and procedures, GMP, HACCP and food safety programs through records reviewConduct routine plant inspections to verify compliance to quality and food safety programs and regulatory requirementsAssist in the investigation of customer complaints and holds for non-conformanceMonitor quality and status of products in inventoryMonitor CIP systems and documentation to ensure proper cleaning. Validate records and compliance to established parametersPerform routine sanitation inspection and verify efficacy with associated equipment through visual inspection and microbiological testingManage and oversee Retain areaResponsible for onboarding and refresher training of QC TechniciansReview Food Safety and Quality RecordsOn occasion will be required to perform QC Technicians’ responsibilitiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in food science or related experience and or/training; or equivalent experience in lieu of educationKnowledgeable in HACCP, GMPs, food safety, plant audits, sanitation and other state and federal regulatoryProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word etc.)Valid Driver’s License ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to organize, supervise and direct a diverse work forceMust be goal oriented and results drivenAbility to manage multiple prioritiesStrong technical and organizational skills with a high sense of urgency and flexibilityMust have demonstrated ability to work independently without daily supervision or monitoringAbility to communicate effectively with team members at all levels in both written and oral PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1 - 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing or food production Supervisory experience in quality assurance in food or beverage manufacturing HACCP & SQF Certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:The work environment for this position will be typical of the manufacturing facility. There are portions of the job that will require working in cold (< 40°ree;F) environments and in warm environments (>90°ree;F), loud environments, in proximity of chemicals as well as the laboratory environment.
