We design and manufacture the world’s leading industrial and IT enclosures, racks, and accessories, including high-efficiency, high-density power management, and climate control systems for industrial, data center, outdoor, and hybrid applications.Customer Quality Engineer (NPI)Brief Summary:The Customer Quality Engineer acts as the primary liaison between Rittal and global customers for all product quality matters, with a strong focus on supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. This role ensures customer requirements are integrated into product design and manufacturing processes, drives proactive quality planning, and leads continuous improvement initiatives within an ISO 9001:2015-certified environment.Why Work at Rittal:Above-average benefits available on the 1st of the month after you start401K MatchOpportunities for professional development and certificationsCollaborative, innovative work environmentKey Responsibilities:Serve as the main point of contact for global customer quality concerns, complaints, and auditsLead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes for customer-reported issues using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, DMAICCommunicate resolution plans and updates to customers professionally and promptlyMonitor and report customer quality metrics (defect rates, warranty claims, satisfaction scores) and drive improvement initiativesLead quality planning activities for new product launches in alignment with APQP requirementsParticipate in NPI activities to integrate customer requirements into design and manufacturingCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Supply Chain) to ensure robust quality standards during product developmentValidate manufacturing processes through capability studies and PPAP submissionsEnsure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and customer-specific quality requirementsSupport internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory auditsMaintain accurate documentation (control plans, FMEAs, inspection criteria) and records for quality activitiesIdentify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction without compromising qualityDrive quality improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologiesQualifications:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related fieldOR Associate degree and 2–4 years related experienceOR 5–8 years related experience in manufacturing quality roleExperience & Skills:Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, SPC, PPAP, APQP)Experience working with global customers and managing cross-functional teamsFamiliarity with industry standards (ISO 9001/AS9100)Background in R&D, Product Development, or developing manufacturing platforms (preferred)Certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or Lead Auditor (preferred)Core Competencies:Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teamsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levelsDetail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to fast-paced environmentsCapable of multitasking and managing competing prioritiesIf you require reasonable accommodation for any part of the application or hiring process due to a disability, you may contact the company’s Human Resources Department at (937) 399-0500.This option is reserved for individuals who require accommodation due to a disability.Rittal LLC and Eplan are proud to be an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
