We are currently recruiting for a full time position as a Quality Improvement Specialist. This position requires in person attendance at our Petersburg, VA location. ResponsibilitiesThis positions supports efforts to perform complex tasks in support of the agency's focus on compliance and ongoing quality management. This position serves to ensure agency wide compliance and evaluating the performance to meet regulations, polices, and procedures that govern the CSB and the services provided. The position is responsible for reporting inconsistencies or flaws in a process or program and assisting with a plan of action to correct inefficiencies. The position also includes assisting with HIPAA and human rights investigations, risk management functions and providing agency coverage to report serious incidents/injuries/deaths to DBHDS within 24 hours of report as required. Required Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree, preferably in human services field or related field.Two (2) years related experience.Experience in behavioral healthcare in a clinical setting and Quality Improvement capacity required.Valid Driver’s License with a point balance of -6 or higher. Required Knowledge, Skill and AbilitiesKnowledge of QI activities and principles; accepted medical record standards; management information systems; regulatory/funding standards; methods of accomplishing compliance. Skills in providing services to consumers with behavioral health care needs; conducting medical record reviews; conducting investigations; computer proficiency (word processing and data management); report writing; data analysis/interpretation. Ability to read, understand and interpret state/federal regulations, internal policies/procedures, and insurance standards. Analyze documentation to determine compliance with requirements; establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency and non-agency staff; maintain accurate, organized, up-to-date records and files; maintain objectivity. Exercise sound judgment; maintain high degree of confidentiality; ability to prioritize work duties, which have the potential to change unexpectedly throughout the day; provide training.Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.
