JOB DESCRIPTION

Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for coordinating quality activities, primarily focusing on assembly inspections. This role involves root cause-corrective actions (RCCA), First Article Inspections (FAIs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and addressing supplier issues. The inspector will engage in internal customer contact within a cross-functional work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily assembly inspections to ensure products meet type design specifications.
  • Facilitate communication and feedback between incoming and downstream internal customers.
  • Coordinate containment of stock and Work In Progress (WIP) through quality investigations as needed.
  • Attend Quality Review Board (QRB) meetings to support Quality Engineers (QE) and address internal issues.
  • Provide real-time shop floor support for quality-based investigations and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with QEs on customer returns, manage the RMA process, and document the quality portion of the RCCA process.
  • Create Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and other necessary quality documentation.
  • Identify and address any known or potential quality problems.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of First Article Inspections (FAIs)
  • Understanding of electrical bonding
  • Proficiency in the application of sealants
  • Familiarity with torque specifications
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Skill in assessing compliance of parts with print measurements
  • Decision-making ability
  • Experience using MRP systems
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in precision sheet metal or assembly shop environment.

Work Environment:

The role is situated in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The position requires occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, focus adjustment, and color vision are necessary. While performing job duties, there might be exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
