JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Inspector
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector for the 1st Shift, operating from Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm. This role has emerged due to a significant backlog caused by a fire. The position is guaranteed for at least four months, with potential for extension based on workload. The candidate will work in the quality department, a distinct area separate from the machining zone, performing inspections on machined parts from Mills, Lathes, and Swiss machines for the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, comparators, and potentially a CMM.
- Read and interpret defense blueprints and understand GD&T symbols.
- Ensure tolerances are maintained to +/.0001 of an inch.
- Document inspection results on paper, with Excel proficiency considered advantageous.
Essential Skills
- 1+ years of quality inspection experience in a metal shop, preferably in Aerospace and Defense.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T symbols.
- Experience with micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
- Compliance with ITAR regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CMM experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in Aerospace and Defense is beneficial.

Work Environment
This is a family-owned and operated machine shop for over 50 years, with approximately 20 employees. Despite its older building, the shop is well-lit, organized, and clean. The facility houses about 40-50 machines, with 30 being manual, and is equipped with air conditioning. The company prides itself on quality craftsmanship, evidenced by their history of never having parts returned.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
