This is a Full-Time opportunity in which you will be supporting the 1st shift or 2nd shift hours. This opportunity is a 6-month to 1 year contract. If you have a passion for mechanical products and a keen eye for quality, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!Key Responsibilities:Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies, and materials at various stages (in-process, final, and first article) to ensure conformance to specifications and drawings.Use a variety of precision inspection tools, including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, huck and height gauges and feeler gauges.Demonstrate strong visual acuity with the ability to detect defects in complex products and assess workmanship quality per customer specifications.Classify defect types and verify rework completed during inspection.Verify documentation packages meet industry and commodity-specific standards.Ensure proper protection and preservation of inspected products prior to further processing or shipment.Perform 5S activities.Assist with customer requests.Required Qualifications: 2+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection.Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards.Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.001)Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation.Ability to adapt to new technology and software.Weekends are required (every other week) Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.Must be willing to undergo a background check.Must be ITAR compliant.Ability to read and write in English and communicate clearly verbally.Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience.Certification in inspection techniques or GD&T is a plus.Mileage reimbursement at the US gov't rate ($0.70 per mile driven, up to 100 miles).
