Job DescriptionJob DescriptionQuality InspectorThe Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured or purchased components meet engineering specifications through inspection methods, documentation, and problem-solving. This role also includes disassembly analysis of rejected parts to identify failure modes and drive corrective actions into the production process.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompare measurements obtained on manufactured or purchased components to engineering drawing specifications (including GD&T).Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using a variety of precision gages and measurement systems.Conduct disassembly/teardown analysis on rejected parts to determine the root cause of failure or nonconformance.Document inspection and teardown findings and communicate results to engineering, production, and quality teams.Drive feedback into manufacturing processes to prevent recurrence of issues and support continuous improvement.Record inspection data in required formats and systems.Write non-conformance reports and maintain control of non-conforming material.Assist in corrective action and root cause analysis activities (5-Why, Ishikawa, etc.).Maintain equipment condition and perform basic preventative maintenance.Follow standardized work, safety procedures, and support 6S.Support company quality goals and manufacturing objectives.QualificationsMechanical aptitude and understanding of how components interact in assemblies.Experience with measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, plug gages, vision systems, surface testers, CMM, etc.).Ability to methodically disassemble components for failure analysis.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and within a team.Computer literacy for data entry and reporting.Familiarity with quality systems or standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) a plus.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.Manual dexterity to handle small parts and precision tools.Ability to perform repetitive inspection tasks.Visual acuity for detailed inspection (corrected vision acceptable).Ability to bend, reach, and use hand tools during teardown analysis.Use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, etc.) as required.Work EnvironmentWork performed in a manufacturing and inspection environment.Moderate exposure to manufacturing noise, machinery, oils, solvents, and cleaning agents.May require occasional overtime or shift flexibility based on production needs.Frequent collaboration with production, engineering, and quality personnel.Work may involve both office and shop floor responsibilities.Stanadyne is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, gender, color, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status or any other protected class.
