Location: Oak Ridge TNJob Title: Quality Programs EngineerCareer Level:Senior SpecialistJob Specialty: Quality EngineeringWhat Youll Do The Quality Programs Engineer is responsible for ensuring Quality Assurance (QA) program requirements. These program requirements include implementation and compliance with NQA-1 NAP-401.1 DOE O 414.1 and the CNS Quality Assurance Program Description (as well as several other Y-12 procedural requirements). The Quality Programs Engineer will provide Quality programmatic oversight consisting of Quality in Procurements Quality Level Determinations Quality Assessments/Surveillances Issues Management and various other Quality elements across Y-12. The Quality Programs Engineer will be required to collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.General Responsibilities: Directly participate in the development of programs and procedures related to quality. Assist with the oversight activities of those programs and policies. Participate in the Quality Level Determination for procured items. Work with partners across Y-12 to ensure Quality Level Determinations are appropriate and compliant. Review procurement documentation for compliance with Quality requirements. Assist employees other organizations and suppliers with interpretation and implementation of Quality requirements. Assist in the development and implementation of various Quality training courses. Assist with evaluation and coordination of the response/implementation to new or changing requirements. Develop and track metrics that provide oversight of quality processes on a continuing basis and provide feedback to operating organizations of their performance. Participate in causal analysis fact-findings critiques and extent of condition reviews in response to operational events as needed. Participate in assessments and surveillances of quality elements identified in the QAPD. DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2)Preferred Job Requirements Experience in quality requirements quality control general quality support or significant experience in quality assurance activities. Experience with process improvements project management and engineering processes. Ability to understand/resolve complex issues and communicate the resolution. Demonstrated experience in effectively partnering and communicating with internal and external customers. Knowledge of DOE Orders NNSA Quality requirements CNS internal requirements and industry best practices. Experience in developing key metrics and performance indicators (KPIs) tracking and interpreting KPIs and adjusting organizational direction to drive behaviors for large programmatic activities. Part 712) which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.This position may be categorized as a designated position identified by 10 C.F.R.
