Job Description

1st Shift: with flexible scheduling ( five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts )

Starting Pay: $23.10 - $27.00 per hour, based on experience

The Quality Technician II audits parts as received from outside sourcing, fabrication and final assembly processes. Ensure that correct measurements are being met when compared to the product drawing specifications and that the correct product is being received and used. Assist in maintaining an acceptable level of quality on orders being assembled for compliance with customer and company guidelines.

What Will You Do?

  • Perform audits on select completed items; verify that the product matches what is called out in the prints and on customer orders. This is accomplished with precision measurement hand tools and a Faro measurement arm using Polyworks Software.

  • Upon audit completion, report any detected errors to a supervisor or lead man for correction prior to shipment.

  • Notify purchasing department when an NMR is needed for any purchased item that is found to be out of specification.

  • Perform follow-up audits on items or projects that were found to have been out of specification and have been corrected.

  • Record all audit results by print or electronic copy for future review.

  • Perform calibration tests on all measuring devices located in the plant and record results for future review.

  • Perform pressure test on welded vessels.

  • Other duties as may be assigned.

What Will You Need?

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication helpful.

  • Knowledge of GD&T helpful.

  • Knowledge of Polyworks Software is a plus, but training will be offered.

  • Knowledge of ISO reporting requirements.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the ability to learn other computer software applications as needed in the auditing process.

Other Job-Related Components:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and other drawings; communicate information contained within them to individuals both inside and outside the company, as needed.

  • Determine if products meet drawing specifications by using different types of measurement devices.

  • Organize, communicate, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
