The Quoting / Estimating Manager plays a critical role in ZYCI's growth by developing accurate, competitive, and strategically aligned cost estimates for complex precision-machined components. This role requires a strong technical understanding of CNC machining, the ability to assess risk and opportunity, and close collaboration with sales, operations, and leadership to support profitable, repeatable work in aerospace and defense programs.

What You'll Do

  • Review and analyze RFQs, including 3D models, 2D drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering:
    • CNC machining (in-house and outsourced)
    • Raw materials
    • Finishing and special processes
    • Inspection, testing, and certifications
    • Hardware, subcomponents, and assemblies
  • Estimate machining time, setup time, inspection time, and non-recurring engineering (NRE)
  • Coordinate and evaluate supplier quotes for outsourced machining, materials, finishing, and testing services
  • Identify and document risks, assumptions, constraints, and cost drivers within each quote
  • Maintain accurate quote data and documentation using ProShop ERP and SharePoint
  • Support pricing strategies focused on repeatable, high-value production work
  • Collaborate with sales and leadership teams to ensure quotes align with ZYCI's technical capabilities and long-term strategic objectives
  • Ensure traceability, consistency, and accuracy across all estimates and supporting documentation

What We're Looking For

  • Strong technical understanding of CNC machining processes, including mills, lathes, and multi-axis equipment
  • Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and ERP systems
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and capable of managing multiple RFQs simultaneously
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting aerospace or defense manufacturing programs
  • Familiarity with ProShop ERP (preferred)
  • Prior experience in quoting, estimating, or cost analysis within a precision manufacturing environment

Why ZYCI

  • Work on high-visibility aerospace and defense programs
  • Join a growing, well-capitalized precision machining company with a strong industry reputation
  • Culture built on quality, accountability, realism, and long-term thinking
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on inspection strategy, quality systems, and execution
