R&D Engineering Assistant - Medical Device Assembly
Micro-Leads is a fast-paced early-stage company developing an injectable medical device to treat people with chronic pain with greater efficacy. Our company has extensive expertise in precision, closed-loop, and high-resolution neuromodulation /bioelectronic medicine devices.
Responsibilities:
- Assembly and testing of miniature electrical and plastic/polymer medical devices
- Build miniature components to support the research and development team
- Build, setup, and qualify new and existing assembly fixtures and test systems
- Perform assembly, laser cutting, and molding procedures
- Assist with CAD drawings for mechanical designs
- Execute
Minimum Qualifications
- Outstanding ability to work with your hands and fingers (excellent manual dexterity, particularly with very small things)
- Experience assembling small devices using adhesives
- Experience mixing adhesives or silicone
- Experience working with small hand tools, microscopes, tweezers, and wrenches
- High attention to detail
- A positive attitude, the willingness to learn, and an excellent work ethic
- A high school diploma or associates degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Rework of PCBs using rework station and fine wire
- Experience soldering SMT components with a microscope
- Experience with making small items (ex. laser cutting, molding, CNC machining)
- Practical experience reading electrical diagrams or mechanical drawings
- Computer skills to run equipment (ex. Autocad Lite)
- Ability to understand or modify documents, drawings, specifications, and quality plans
