Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers if accepted are exclusively with Spencer Hospital. This position qualifies for hiring incentives. The amount of incentives offered may be discussed during the interview process.Responsibilities:Responsible for the daily delivery of radiation treatments to cancer patients CT simulation and initial set-up of new treatment areas and for providing emotional and educational support for radiation oncology patients and their familiesAssists physics staff to ensure treatment records and dosimetric procedures are completed accurately. Works directly with physician at the machine and with simulationPerforms ionizing radiation treatments schedules patients for treatment to ensure a smooth department flow and quality care to patientsPerforms radiographic and CT procedures producing images for the interpretation by; or at least request of a licensed practitionerExercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethicsProvides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedureRequirements:A certificate from an accredited education program in radiation therapyRT(T) Registered Radiation Therapist or registry eligibleARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists State License for IowaMust demonstrate/learn an understanding of cancer radiation biology radiation safety and protectionBe highly motivated & team orientatedSchedule:Full-time benefit eligible64 hours per pay period8a-4:30 M-FPosition is capable of adding an 8 hour Rad Technologist shift for a 72 hr position based on candidates preferenceThe schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the departmentSpencer Hospital offers competitive wages affordable insurance IPERS retirement in-house education paid time off family gym membership and so much more!
