Leads departmental programs, acts as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, and assumes routine supervisory duties in the absence of the team leader. Work Experience Required - 5 years of radiologic technologist experience. Required - Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. * Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability) and travel throughout and between facilities. Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy. * Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care. * Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (may include placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast). * Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards. * Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted. * Leads departmental programs, protocol development, system standardization, competency validation, safety programs, accreditation, and quality/efficiency initiatives. * Assists in the orientation and training of junior staff; Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
