Job Summary:

The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for securing and providing information to patients, families, and funding sources to register, schedule, and/or obtain authorizations for inpatient, outpatient, and/or diagnostic services. This role requires excellent customer service skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to perform data entry efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Secure and provide information to patients, families, and funding sources for registration, scheduling, and authorizations.
- Demonstrate customer service skills to develop rapport with diverse customers.
- Perform data entry functions to maintain productivity standards.
- Utilize knowledge of insurance verification, authorization, and eligibility requirements.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Perform any other related duties (e.g., clerical, technical duties) as assigned.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Experience/general knowledge of managed care health plans.
- Knowledge of scheduling, registration, billing, and/or claims payment.
- Minimum of two years of work experience in a health care setting and/or one year work experience in a specific department function call center environment.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- General knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of insurance verification authorization and eligibility requirements for health insurance carriers.
- Epic knowledge.
- Internet capability.

Scheduling:
- 5x8 Evening shift: 1500-2330.
