Thank you for considering a career at Bon Secours Mercy Health!Scheduled Weekly Hours:24Work Shift:Days (United States of America)Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The X-Ray Technician performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. The X-Ray Technician is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider.Essential Job Functions Safely performs provider ordered radiographic examinations including but not limited to proper patient positioning immobilization and utilizing appropriate radiation protection.Sets up and adjusts supportive and immobilization equipment and devices as required by individual cases. Positions and handles patients with a high degree of safety and professionalismAccurately documents patient encounters within Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors which safeguard the patient x-ray tube and equipmentMaintains clinical and administrative skills to meet patient care and daily operational needs. Collect patient specimens and runs point of care lab tests. Travel to other facilities for BSMH providers or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs as directed by the manager may also be required.Directs and practices sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination of diseaseReports immediately any malfunction necessary adjustments or repairs of equipment to supervisorOther duties include but not limited to ordering supplies lab and diagnostic tests disposes of contaminated supplies patient registration scheduling phone triage cash handling check-in/check-out and performing scribing duties as needed basis.This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities skills duties requirements or working conditions associated with the job.
