GROUP:ClassifiedSALARY: Support StaffFLSA STATUS:Non-exemptWORK DAYS PER FISCAL YEAR:180 10-Month HOLIDAYS:10SUMMARY: The Recess Monitor will monitor students on school grounds enforcing rules providing for a safe environment and reporting behavior incidents to Lodge Leaders or teacher; may assist with instructional materials; other duties may be assigned.ABOUT CHIEF LESCHI SCHOOLS:Formerly known as the Puyallup Tribal School Chief Leschi Schools was founded in 1976 to address the high dropout rate of the youth of the Puyallup tribe. It is the largest of seven tribal schools in the state of Washington and one of approximately 200 tribal schools in the United States. It is also one of the largest tribal schools to be funded by the Bureau of Indian Education.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:Monitors studentsDocuments and reports incidentsPrepares materials using copy machine laminator etc.Engages with students in a school environmentMaintains and/or assists with students discipline including maintenance of positive students behaviorAssists with the supervision of students during building activities such as assemblies and special programsAssists students with building emergency drillsMay attend staff meetings and building events such as open houseMay attend related professional development activities and workshopsMaintains effective communication with classroom teachers and administratorsMaintain professional conduct when working with students staff and parentsMaintains regular attendance and punctualityPerforms other duties as assignedThis list is meant to be representative not exhaustive. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
