By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs using various software.Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to define measurement strategies.Select appropriate CMM probes, fixtures, and measurement methods for diverse parts.Validate CMM programs through first-article inspections, correlation studies, and repeatability tests.Troubleshoot and resolve CMM program errors, measurement discrepancies, and equipment issues.Maintain and update CMM program libraries, documentation, and revision control.Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure measurement accuracy and efficiency.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Expert-level understanding and application of GD&T principles.Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models.Strong knowledge of metrology, measurement techniques, and CMM calibration.Proven experience in CMM programming within a manufacturing quality environment.Bonus QualificationsExperience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, optical comparators)Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis techniquesAbility to design and/or fabricate CMM holding fixturesExperience training or mentoring others on CMM operation and inspection best practicesFamiliarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) applied to quality processesJob Titles That Should ApplyCMM Programmer, Metrology Programmer, Dimensional Metrologist, CMM Operator/Programmer, Quality Inspector (CMM), Inspection Programmer, Metrology Technician, Dimensional Inspection SpecialistWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
