Reference/Instructor Librarian - 109130, 105840University of West Florida The University of West Florida Libraries in Pensacola, FL seeks two Instructor Librarians (positions #109130 and  #105840) to serve as subject liaisons for one or more of the assigned disciplines: Business, Education, or STEM.  This learner-centered Reference librarian is responsible for:Providing reference and research assistance to library patrons through multiple modes of delivery,  including scheduled shifts at the Reference DeskAs the Reference liaison for assigned disciplines, responsibilities will include: Providing group and individual library instruction and/or Information Literacy instruction and  activitiesServing as a subject specialist and faculty liaisonProviding individual research consultationsCreating and maintaining library user aids, tutorials, and research guides within assigned disciplines, as  well as selected general areasSelection, acquisition, management, weeding, and development of library materials, in all formats, for  assigned subject areasRepresenting UWF on statewide committees/subcommitteesCompleting other duties as assigned The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a collaborative and innovative environment; successfully  communicate and collaborate with other departments; enthusiastically participate in projects involving new and  emerging technologies; and possess excellent patron service, communication, writing, and organizational skills.  Regular work schedule during the fall and spring academic sessions is Monday through Friday, and may include  evenings and occasional weekends.   Required: Possess a minimum of a Master's of Library Science, Master's degree of Library and Information Science or  Master's degree of Information Science or closely related from an ALA accredited program; or, currently enrolled  in an ALA accredited program with less than 6 months remaining to obtain a Master's of Library science,  Master's degree of Library and Information Science, or Master's degree of Information Science.  Preferred: Experience in reference service and/or collection developmentBackground in Business, Education, and/or Science (e.g., Chemistry, Physics, Math, Computer Science,  Engineering)Experience teaching library instruction classesProfessional, academic library experience  Program Overview/Environment: The Reference Department consists of the Head of the Department and six librarians who are responsible for  providing reference service, teaching library instruction sessions, collecting materials for the monographic  collection, and selecting serials and databases. The Reference Librarians each have a coordinating function (e.g.,interlibrary loans, serials and database selection, information literacy, and reference collection development) and  assigned disciplines.  The University of West Florida Libraries have 12 library faculty and 24 support staff in three facilities - the John C.  Pace Library and Education Research Library on the Pensacola main campus and a branch library on the Emerald  Coast Campus in Fort Walton Beach. UWF is one of twelve State Universities in Florida. This is a full time twelve-month non-tenure earning position with faculty rank  and status. Position reports to the Head of the Reference Department. Anticipated start date is March 1, 2026.
