The position reports to the Director EHS.Position OverviewRegional EHS Managers are the frontline leaders responsible for executing Group 1 Automotives Environment Health & Safety programs across their assigned regions dealerships and collision centers. They serve as trusted safety partners to regional and field leadership deliver hands-on support training and program implementation to drive a positive proactive safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.Description of Key ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position primarily include the following for the assigned region: Program Implementation Roll out corporate EHS programs and ensure dealership compliance with safety standardsField Leadership Support Act as the go-to EHS resource for Market Directors General Managers Service Directors and Fixed Ops leadersTraining & Coaching Deliver safety training and toolbox talks; coach on-site leaders on leading safe behaviorsAudits & Inspections Conduct site audits and job hazard assessments; ensure timely closure of action itemsIncident Response Support incident investigations and root cause analysis; track corrective actionsData & Reporting Submit TRIR LTIR and vehicle incident data; support data quality and dashboard inputsContractor Oversight Ensure vendor safety compliance during facility work construction or maintenanceCulture Building Promote safety campaigns and recognition; share best practices across regions. Ability to understand and connect with people build trust and mediate disputes to foster a collaborative environmentTeam Management Manage EHS Administrators daily activities and performanceOther duties as assignedDesired QualificationsBachelors degree preferred; equivalent experience in safety or operations will be considered5 years of safety risk or operations leadership in a multi-site environmentStrong knowledge of OSHA and vehicle service-related hazardsKnowledge of EHS management software and toolsComfortable working in auto dealerships service bays and shop-floor environmentsAbility to clearly explain safety procedures lead and motivate employeesStrong knowledge managing Workers comp injuriesConfident and effective at delivering presentationsExcellent interpersonal and coaching skills; ability to influence without authorityValid drivers license; ability to travel regionally 5070% of the timeWhy Group 1 AutomotiveGroup 1 Automotive is a leading operator of automotive dealerships and collision centers across the United States and United Kingdom.
