Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and strategic Regional Sales Manager to expand direct business across the western United States. This role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional who thrives on building relationships, closing complex deals, and driving growth within the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) space.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical understanding, industry knowledge, and consultative sales experience, with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver solutions that advance transportation technology.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management
Drive new business development while managing and expanding existing customer relationships
Build strong partnerships with distributors to enhance sales performance and achieve revenue targets
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand market presence across the region

Client Engagement & Solution Selling
Develop deep product knowledge and effectively position solutions to municipal, county, and state transportation agencies, as well as consulting firms
Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations in collaboration with technical teams
Identify customer needs and recommend solutions that provide measurable value

Strategic Sales Execution
Develop and execute strategies for major pursuits, including proposals, bids, and quotations
Collaborate closely with technical sales, proposal, operations, and product teams to deliver high-quality RFP responses
Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through contract execution

Market Presence & Industry Engagement
Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies

Pipeline Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including pipeline activity, meeting notes, and project details
Track performance metrics, analyze sales data, and provide insights to support business decisions

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of business development or sales experience, preferably within ITS, transportation, or technology-driven solutions
Proven track record of successfully selling ITS, traffic signal systems, and/or ATMS software solutions within the U.S. market
Strong understanding of technology trends, product development cycles, and solution-based selling

Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Strong negotiation and closing abilities
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and highly collaborative
Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational teams
Experience analyzing sales performance, KPIs, and market trends

Preferred Experience
Established relationships within transportation agencies, DOTs, or consulting firms
Experience working with complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
Familiarity with software and hardware solutions in the transportation or infrastructure space
