Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)Job DescriptionTherapy & Learning Center of Georgia (TLC Georgia)Primary Location: Roswell, GA • Additional Location: Kennesaw, GAFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Clinical Supervisor Department: Clinical ServicesPosition SummaryThe Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who delivers one-to-one applied behavior analysis (ABA) services under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA/BCaBA. The RBT implements treatment plans targeting skill acquisition and behavior reduction, ensures accurate data collection, and supports client safety and dignity in clinic, home, or community settings.Essential ResponsibilitiesImplement ABA programming as written by the supervising BCBA/BCaBA (e.g., DTT, NET, task analysis, shaping, chaining, generalization).Follow behavior intervention plans (BIPs) with fidelity; utilize antecedent, teaching, and reinforcement strategies as directed.Collect, enter, and maintain accurate session data in the electronic health record; complete required session notes on time.Maintain professional, family-centered communication; escalate clinical or safety concerns promptly to the supervising clinician.Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and required trainings; apply performance feedback to improve treatment integrity.Support safe transitions and client engagement across treatment areas; set up and clean treatment spaces and materials.Uphold client confidentiality and privacy consistent with HIPAA and organizational policy.Perform other duties related to client care and clinic operations as assigned.Requirements:Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Active RBT credential from the BACB (or ability to obtain within organization-defined timeframe, if hiring pathway allows).At least 6–12 months of experience providing ABA services to children with autism spectrum disorder or related developmental needs.Reliable, punctual attendance and availability for assigned schedule.Successful completion of background check and work authorization verification.Preferred QualificationsOne or more years of experience in pediatric ABA or special needs settings.CPR/First Aid certification and crisis-prevention training (e.g., CPI/MANDT/MCPP) or ability to obtain within 30 days.Basic proficiency with electronic data collection systems and MS Office/Google Workspace.Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills; professional written and verbal communication.Core CompetenciesTreatment Fidelity & Ethics: Delivers services in alignment with BACB ethics and organizational policies.Data-Driven Practice: Collects accurate data and responds to supervisor feedback based on data trends.Collaboration: Works effectively with BCBAs, peers, caregivers, and interdisciplinary clinicians.Professionalism: Maintains boundaries, respect, and cultural humility in all interactions.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand, walk at a brisk pace, sit on the floor or at a table, bend/stoop/kneel, and use hands and arms to reach and handle materials. The employee may be required to lift or move up to 30–50 pounds, support or block a child to ensure safety, and move quickly between rooms. The role may involve implementing crisis-prevention strategies per training (e.g., CPI/MANDT/MCPP) and responding to elopement or other safety concerns consistent with organizational protocols.Schedule & TravelPrimary schedule is Monday–Friday during clinic hours; exact hours are assigned based on client needs. Occasional in-home or school-based sessions and limited local travel may be required.Compliance & Other ExpectationsAdheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements; maintains confidentiality of all protected information.Maintains current RBT certification and completes required continuing education and in-service training.Follows all organizational policies, clinical protocols, and safety procedures at all times.Equal Opportunity & Employment StatusTLC Georgia is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
