Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPay Rate: $16.00 - $21.00 per hourBehavior Technician (RBT) Job Summary:The Behavior Technician position supports and implements a patient care plan created by aboard-certified behavior analyst. If not already certified, the behavior technician will complete a40-hour certification course and take the Registered Behavior Technician Exam provided by theBehavior Analyst Certification Board. The Behavior Technician works with individuals diagnosedwith an autism spectrum disorder between the ages of 2 and 21, implementing Applied BehaviorAnalysis interventions that encourage socially acceptable replacement behaviors to help clientsbuild and improve communication, motor, social interaction, academic, and problem-solvingskills. What this looks like in practice varies greatly because behavioral therapy is specific to anindividual’s needs.Responsibilities and Duties● Actively work with individuals (2 years to 21 years of age) diagnosed with ASD. AllTreatment will be implemented primarily center-based, providing direct client careindividual sessions and group sessions.● Implement principles of applied behavior analysis to help learners achieve individualgoals by following behavior reduction programs and behavioral skill acquisition protocols.● Implement customized therapy plans tailored to each child's unique treatment needs.● Help children develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and vocationally throughappropriate programming and education.● Help children progress in educational and social settings and prepare learners togeneralize all skills within the natural environment.● Maintains all mandatory certifications as required by Try Love Behavioral Center.(CPR, first aid, CPI, etc.)● Acts as a positive role model for all staff, families, and children working with Try LoveBehavioral Center.● Maintains client confidentiality per Try Love Behavioral Center, LLC. policy and HIPAAPrivacy Regulations.● Attends and assists with set-up for mandatory special events (family nights, groupsessions, public relation affairs, and fundraisers).● Collaborate with a team of like-minded individuals dedicated to helping everyindividual reach their maximum potential.Requirements:● Required: High School Diploma/GED● A college degree in any field and relevant work experience. (Preferred)● Registered Behavior Technician Certification (Preferred)● Must have a passion and a heart for children with developmental and behavioralchallenges.● Strong verbal and written communication skills.● Ability to multitask.● Excellent time management skills.● Ability to develop strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.● Must be willing to complete specialized Registered Behavior Techniciancoursework (40 hours) and competency testing, as well as all orientation andtraining, if not yet acquired.● Physical Requirements: Lifting/Carrying more than 50 lbs. Able to sustain impact to thebody (i.e., being hit, kicked, etc.) in any area. Running, crouching, squatting, and theability to kneel for sustained periods. Bending at the waist to touch knees and toes. Fullrange of motion of hands and arms. Sitting on the floor and chair for long periods. Abilitytomove quickly from standing to seated or kneeling position without support.● Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License.● Must have the ability to be very empathetic and committed to receiving ongoing trainingand development.● Important Note: Safety is a priority at Try Love Behavioral Center.
