Registered Dental Hygienist
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and assisting the dentist in delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to creating a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing.
- Conduct oral health assessments and document findings in patient records.
- Take and develop dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations.
- Screen patients for signs of oral diseases, including gingivitis, periodontal disease, and oral cancer.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment recommendations.
- Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride and dental sealants.
- Assist dentists with examinations, treatment planning, and patient care as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain dental equipment and supplies.
- Foster a welcoming and professional environment for patients of all ages.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of practice.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, instruments, and infection control standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a general dentistry or specialty practice.
- Experience with electronic dental records and dental practice management software.
- Local anesthesia certification (if permitted by state regulations).
