Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) serves as a tribal consortium representing 42 villages across Interior Alaska. With a mission to promote physical and mental wellness, education, socioeconomic development, and cultural preservation, TCC is rooted in the principles of tribal self-determination and Native unity. As a non-profit organization, TCC addresses health and social service challenges for over 10,000 Alaska Natives dispersed across 235,000 square miles. The organization balances traditional Native values with the modern needs of Indigenous communities, striving to build healthy and strong tribes for future generations.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Fairbanks, Alaska. The Registered Dietitian will provide nutritional counseling and Medical Nutrition Therapy to clients, develop individualized care plans, and promote weight management strategies. The role involves creating and implementing nutrition programs, collaborating with healthcare teams, and providing education to individuals and groups on maintaining healthy lifestyles. The Dietitian will also evaluate patient progress and adjust recommendations to meet health goals and cultural needs.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Dietetics and Nutrition for designing individualized meal plans and assessing dietary needs.
  • Experience in Nutritional Counseling to support behavioral changes and improve health outcomes.
  • Expertise in Medical Nutrition Therapy and Weight Management to address a range of dietary and health conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of Nutrition principles to create effective programs and educate diverse populations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams while respecting cultural values and traditions.
  • Registered Dietitian credential (RD/RDN) and current state licensure in Alaska (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience working in rural or Native communities is a plus.
