Whether you’re starting your career or bringing years of experience, you’ll make a difference every day while growing professionally.Position Details:Lactation Consultant – RN (LDRP)Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63128Status: PRN (As Needed)OverviewResponsible for assessment, problem identification and problem-solving for patient/staff education relating to breastfeeding. Develops, implements and evaluates the lactation education program. Emphasis with focus on antepartum, postpartum, nurseries and specifically related outpatient clientele.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree required, along with specialized training or completion of a relevant internship.Licensure: Must hold a current RN license or RN Temporary Permit in the State of Missouri.Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience required.Certifications: Lactation education certification is required.Preferred QualificationsEducation: Advanced degree or additional relevant coursework preferred.Licensure: Additional or multi-state licensure preferred.Experience: Prior experience in lactation support or related specialty preferred.Certifications: Additional certifications in maternal-child health or lactation consulting preferred.Other: Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient-centered care.Physical Requirements:Frequent standing and walking throughout shiftSignificant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistanceAbility to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbsWhy Mercy?From day one, Mercy offers outstanding benefits - including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition support, and matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period.Join a caring, collaborative team where your voice matters.
