Interteks project-related assurance testing inspection and consulting services are the risk management and quality assurance partner you need to ensure the reliability safety and performance of your new developments existing assets and facilities.Interteks Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting commissioning and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.What are we looking forThe Registered Roof Observer will be responsible for quality assurance observations and monitoring of roofing projects during the construction process. This position is travel-intensiveandyou must be willing and able to travel to project sites as needs arise. Lodging and per-diem are provided by Intertek. Candidates who are not currently RRO-certified but meet the eligibility requirements are also encouraged to applywe will support you in obtaining your certification.Shift/Schedule: Full-Time Hours vary based on project needsWhat youll do:Perform quality assurance observations and monitor the construction process to assure that roofing projects stay in compliance with approved construction drawings specifications and best-practice or warranty stipulated installation proceduresPerform roofing installation inspections at siteAssist and perform other building exterior installations inspections as requiredAssist with roof integrity and building enclosure field testing at sitePrepare written reports for inspection and testing workWork with Project Managers on inspection testing and/or investigative projectsFollow and enforce all safety requirements and company policiesProvide exceptional customer serviceReview and thoroughly understand contract requirements and obtain authorization for and document any deviationsAssist department admin in invoicing for all assigned projectsLearn test standards and test procedures (e.g. AAMA ASTM etc.)Maintain tools and equipment; inventory supplies; maintain cleanliness of work areaThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED requiredRegistered Roof Observer (RRO) credential OR minimum 5 years experience in commercial roof construction and demonstrated experience and eligibility to sit for the RRO exam within 6 months (exam costs covered by Intertek)Ability to write concise site observation reports with photosTechnical knowledge of commercial roofing systemsMust be able to work with minimal supervision and be a self-starterMust be detail-orientedFollow and enforce safety requirements and company policiesAbility to perform work from scaffolding ladders boom-lifts roof levels etc.Ability to climb stairs bend crawl reach overhead push pull or carry up to 50 lbsTechnically competent and able to effectively communicate with clients designers contractors and coworkers both in writing and orallyPhysical ability to sit stand crouch bend climb stairs and ladders crawl push pull lift at least 50 pounds etc. as required to perform job dutiesAbility to travel nationwide depending on workload and project locationsA valid drivers license and reliable driving recordPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:Degree in a technical field desired or equivalent related experience preferredIntertek: Total Quality.
