Responsibilities
The Regulatory Response Team, a key function within Risk Containment, specializes in navigating trust & safety issues, regulatory requirements, and compliance with global laws. The team plays a critical role in mitigating risks related to geopolitical developments and user-generated content, while ensuring timely response to escalations and coordinated action on major global incidents. This team's work directly informs enforcement decisions, shapes policy recommendations, and protects millions of users across high risk markets. Responsibilities include:
- Investigate, manage, and resolve global cases reported across multiple channels for TikTok, including review of potentially graphic, controversial, or offensive content across the Brazilian market.
- Craft comprehensive incident reports and clearly communicate analysis, findings, and escalation rationale to key stakeholders.
- Analyze incident trend data to identify process improvement opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to proactively enhance processes, policies, and products.
- Conduct thorough root cause analyses to address underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams, including regional Trust & Safety, Public Policy, Legal, Product, and Engineering, to develop effective solutions.
- Lead ad hoc and strategic projects from inception through successful implementation.
- Maintain composure and sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s): Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience. Proficiency in Portuguese required (reading and writing). This role requires reviewing content, case materials, and official documentation in local languages, as well as communication with government entities, regulatory bodies, and external partners across the Brazilian market. Strong knowledge of political dynamics, threat actors, social media challenges, common Trust & Safety abuse vectors, and the current regulatory landscape. Experience navigating regulatory inquiries and compliance frameworks, with a process oriented approach to incident management. Ability to thrive, manage escalations effectively, and collaborate across diverse, globally distributed teams. Flexibility to work across global time zones with availability for weekend shifts as required.
Preferred Qualification(s): Strong quantitative skills and a data driven mindset, with proficiency in SQL or Excel. Prior experience in Trust & Safety, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, or risk management. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to distill complex issues for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
