Most importantly our employees are part of a team that makes a real difference in the communities we live and work in.Job Summary:Location: Methodist Corporate OfficeAddress: 825 S 169th St. - Omaha NEWork Schedule: Mon - Fri 7:00am to 4:00pmResponsible for maintaining the charge master on a compliant standardized and efficient basis as well as performing analyses to understand the reimbursement impact of proposed charge master changes. This position reports to the Senior Reimbursement Manager with a collaborative working relationship with other Finance Division staff and also works with other department and affiliate employees.Responsibilities:Essential FunctionsSupervise Charge Services Assistant personnel including direct involvement in hiring orienting/training counseling and evaluating performance.Maintain charge master and pricing schedules for all patient accounting systems.Provide an electronic audit trail for charge master changes additions and deletions.Utilize charge master compliance tools to verify compliance with coding and regulations and take appropriate action as indicated.Participate in charge master audits and implement recommended process and charge master changes.Work with the revenue producing departments to perform applicable analyses to understand charge master proposed changes.Inform management of changes in regulations and coding including evaluating the impact to the Health System.Analyze market information and recommend price schedule changes.Assist Senior Reimbursement Manager in formulating and implementing policies and procedures.Proactively research for reimbursement improvements.Provide excellent customer service in response to requests or inquiries from other departments within the Health System as well as external parties.Participate in testing of patient accounting system code upgrades and new system implementations.Participate in departmental meetings as well as special projects and represent the Finance Division as assigned.Assist with the year-end audit including involvement with the auditors preparation of audit schedules and support and responding to inquiries from the auditors.Schedule:Mon - Fri 7:00am to 4:00pmJob Description:Job RequirementsEducationBachelor degree required or 10 years of work history related to coding/charge master required.ExperienceMinimum five years related work experience required preferably in charge master or revenue integrity.Understanding of hospital billing revenue cycle and reimbursement required.Experience in researching complex coding and regulatory requirements.Familiarity with healthcare information systems and databases is required.Must have a good understanding of the Charge Description Master (CDM) and its relationship to related areas such as the General Ledger Productivity Cost Reporting and Budget.License/CertificationsN/ASkills/Knowledge/AbilitiesA self starter able to effectively deal with uncertainty and complex situationsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to supervise counsel and evaluate others.Strong financial accounting and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environmentAbility to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusionsExcellent project management time management and organizational skills (ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively)Demonstrated relationship management skillsAdvanced computer proficiencyPhysical RequirementsWeight DemandsLight Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force.Physical ActivityOccasionally Performed (1%-33%):BalancingClimbingCarryingCrawlingCrouchingDistinguish colorsKneelingLiftingPulling/PushingReachingStandingStooping/bendingTwistingWalkingFrequently Performed (34%-66%):HearingRepetitive MotionsSeeing/VisualSpeaking/talkingConstantly Performed (67%-100%):Fingering/TouchingGraspingKeyboarding/typingSittingJob HazardsNot Related:Chemical agents (Toxic Corrosive Flammable Latex)Biological agents (primary air born and blood born viruses) (Jobs with Patient contact) (BBF)Physical hazards (noise temperature lighting wet floors outdoors sharps) (more than ordinary office environment)Equipment/Machinery/ToolsExplosives (pressurized gas)Electrical Shock/StaticRadiation Alpha Beta and Gamma (particles such as X-ray Cat Scan Gamma Knife etc)Radiation Non-Ionizing (Ultraviolet visible light infrared and microwaves that causes injuries to tissue or thermal or photochemical means)Mechanical moving parts/vibrationsAbout Methodist:Nebraska Methodist Health System is made up of four hospitals in Nebraska and southwest Iowa more than 30 clinic locations a nursing and allied health college and a medical supply distributorship and central laundry facility.
