Initial appointment is for 1 year, reappointment is anticipated based on performance and funding. The faculty member will be expected to conduct research and development (R&D) on photonic integrated circuits (PIC) including, but not limited to pioneering, innovating, and prototyping. Optoelectronic component design/development/test Chip design and foundry engagements. Perform design technology co-optimization (DCTO) Perform photonic chip and device test. Perform data analysis. Synthesis or R&D result and prepare publications and dissemination material. Assemble and/or improve lab test environments. Identify and prepare applications to funding opportunities Mentor team/group members. Support educational mission through class laboratory support and WFD activities for CHIPS-related grants.Expected Salary: Salary to commensurate with education and experience.Minimum Requirements: PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ASIC and mixed-signal (including PIC) Design for ML/AI applications.
