We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.Job SummaryPostdoctoral Position in Microendoscopy and In Vivo Imaging Brigham and Womens Hospital / Harvard Medical SchoolThe Laboratory for Bio-Microdevices (LBMD) at Brigham and Womens Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School is seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Fellow to develop and apply next-generation microendoscopy technologies for microscopy-guided interventions and in vivo anti-cancer drug screening. This position builds on two breakthrough platforms developed in our lab: the first bendable graded-index (bGRIN) lens and the implantable microdevice (IMD) for localized drug testing in living tissues. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to tackle impactful unmet biomedical challenges within a highly interdisciplinary team of engineers biologists and clinicians at a world-class medical research institution.QualificationsRESPONSIBILITIES:Lead in vivo histopathological imaging of live tumors in animal modelsDevelop and execute protocols for in-situ immune response testing in tumorsCollaborate closely with clinicians to advance interventional IMD technologyWork with pathologists on tissue correlation and image analysisContribute to the ongoing development of bGRIN lens microendoscopyPrepare scientific manuscripts project reports and patent applicationsPresent results within the group at conferences and in review meetingsProvide mentorship and training to research assistants and techniciansREQUIREMENTS:Ph.D. in biomedical engineering biology optics electrical engineering medicine or other closely related fieldsDemonstrated expertise in biomedical imaging immunology animal models and image analysisHands-on experience with two-photon confocal and Raman imaging is advantageous but not requiredExcellent communication time management and multitasking skillsA strong publication record as first author in reputable journals in relevant fieldsThe LBMD at BWH provides a vibrant research environment within the Harvard Medical School community. We maintain close collaborations with groups at MIT Massachusetts General Hospital and other institutions near the Boston area and across the country.
