We support a welcoming and inclusive environment, foster diverse identities and perspectives, and encourage collaboration with all segments of society.Position Summary:The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a coastal geology research specialist at the Institute of Marine Sciences. The successful applicant is expected to have knowledge in Geological Sciences and work on an interdisciplinary research project examining oyster reef morphodynamics. We seek a highly motivated individual who can work at the interface between ecology, geomorphology, sedimentology, and coastal oceanography. This person will work on an existing data set, creating figures, and writing papers.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Statistical analysis using R, sedimentology, and excellent writing skills.Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Previous experience in coring oyster reefs.Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:Not Applicable.
