You will design and synthesize novel materials perform material-level characterization and analysis integrate cells conduct failure and root-cause analyses and optimize performance. Additionally you will prepare high-quality technical reports external publications and records of invention in your research area.What Youll DoDevelop novel materials for advanced battery technology with corresponding evaluation characterization and data analysisDesign and integrate battery cells; perform cell-level evaluationOptimize battery cell performance (e.g. formation protocols)Conduct failure mode and root cause analysesSummarize research results in reports journal publications and conference presentationsInitiate innovative concepts and research projectsDesign and execute experiments to solve technical problemsCollaborate with internal and external partnersYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Ph.D. in Science or EngineeringDemonstrated background in battery-related research and developmentExperience with battery component material development (e.g. active material or electrolyte)In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art energy storage technologiesAbility to generate innovative ideas propose plan and execute research projectsStrong experimental design and execution skills for material developmentAbility to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teamsEffective communication and ability to lead technical discussionsStrong data analysis and interpretation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHands-on experience with chemical or material characterizationWhat Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)35 years of experience in material or cell-level battery developmentHands-on experience with battery materials handling synthesis modification and characterizationExperience with larger battery cell formats (pouch cylindrical)Background in cell fabrication and testing
