Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob descriptionJOB TITLE: Residential Advisor of Recovery HousingHours: 1st Shift and 2nd shift position availabilityDEPARTMENT: Recovery Housing- 24/7SUPERVISOR: Recovery Housing ManagerPURPOSE: To support the safe, sober, and structured living environment of the Recovery house by serving as a peer leader and role model. The RA is responsible for fostering a community of accountability, respect, and encouragement among residents. Through guidance, supervision, and adhering to the house policies, the RA helps residents maintain their recovery goals, build life skills, and navigate challenges in early sobriety. The RA also assists with conflict resolution, ensures compliance with house rules, and act as a liaison between residents and staff to promote overall program success.NATURE OF WORK: Works closely with the Recovery Housing Manages, Recovery Housing Coordinators to monitor and support independent living activities of Residents living in Recovery Housing. COMPETENCIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Maintain a safe and sober environment2. Provide peer support and mentorship3. Enforce house policies and procedure4. Administrative and logistical duties5. Conflict resolution and crisis management6. Facility upkeeping and monitoring.7. Communication and CollaborationESSENTIAL SKILLS AND BEHAVIORS: Abides by agency and/or professional code of ethics. Must be able to communicate effectively and possess the ability to work well both independently and with others in a sensitive, supportive manner that will facilitate the achievement of Residents’ goals. Must act as a role model who presents behaviors that are mature, self-sufficient and socially appropriate. Professional approach to all functions and relationships with all levels of staff, residents, other agencies, and the public. Strong documentation skills. Coordinate and/or assist with housing activities in multiple service sites both within the agency and in the community.We require a minimum of 3 years of sobrietyEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED and extended sobriety required. CPR/First aidLived experience in recovery, with an extended period of sobriety.
