Rest assured all candidate evaluations and hiring decisions are made by our recruitment and hiring teams.What You Will DoPlans and administers assigned respiratory care functions and duties.Required QualificationsGraduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy programCertified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - The National Board of Respiratory CareCalifornia Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) - Respiratory Care Board of CAAHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart AssociationPreferred QualificationsAssociates Degree Related fieldOne (1) year Respiratory Care experienceACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart AssociationRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)Essential FunctionsCommunicationCommunicates patient status observed change and responses to appropriate member of the healthcare team.Consistently updates IPOC/IPER once per shift.Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for and interdisciplinary approach to the patients needs.Attends patient care rounds.DocumentationProficient in computer systems for data entry charges/credits.Maintains patient records as per department guidelines.Enters patient charges/credits as directed with specified time frame.Point of care documentation.QualityAdheres to aseptic technique and universal precautions.Considers patient safety age cultural; psychosocial/physical needs of patients and families when providing care.Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care and answers questions.Perform and adheres to department established patient care assessment and / or patient driven protocol.Identifies inappropriate care and follows through with appropriate recommendations.Participates in orientation of new staff / students.Time managementCompletes delegated duties within timeframes or reports to the appropriate healthcare team member when unable to complete assignment.Accepts additional assignments willingly.Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing work loads with adherence to all department rules and guidelines of care.
