Sodexo's Campus Segment is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Retail Manager 2 to join our team at Salve Regina University, located along Newport's historic Cliff Walk. Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees operations for multiple high-profile retail dining venues, including Jazzman Café, Sandella's Café, two Starbucks locations with a C-Store, and the newly opening Latitude restaurant. The Retail Manager will also lead and execute campus-wide marketing initiatives, ensuring consistent brand excellence and engaging customer experiences across all concepts. This position is ideal for a motivated leader with strong retail acumen, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced university environment.
The Retail Manager 2 is responsible for ensuring outstanding food quality, customer service, operational efficiency, and marketing execution across the campus retail portfolio. This leader will direct daily operations, uphold brand standards (including national retail brands), and supervise both hourly staff and frontline supervisors.
What You'll Do:Champion a zero-harm mindset, ensuring safety for employees, customers, and food handling at all times.
Oversee daily retail operations, including food quality, service standards, and brand compliance across multiple venues.
Ensure staff have the proper equipment, resources, and supplies to achieve operational excellence.
Lead cash-handling procedures, adherence to Sodexo policies, and internal controls.
Drive client and customer satisfaction by maintaining exceptional service and consistent product quality.
Ensure high-quality service delivery, executing all standards with precision.
Supervise, coach, and support the day-to-day activities of hourly team members and frontline supervisors.
Lead marketing initiatives and promotions for all retail venues, enhancing customer engagement and brand visibility.
Collaborate with the General Manager on labor planning, product mix, financial performance, and service innovation.

What You Bring:Experience managing retail dining or branded concepts within hospitality, campus dining, or similar environments.
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising hourly teams and/or supervisors.
Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high operational standards.
Knowledge of cash-handling procedures and retail controls.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, multitask, and adapt to shifting priorities.
Passion for engaging customers through thoughtful marketing and promotional strategies.
